Members of Topagune
Euskaltzaleen Topagunea is the meeting place for Euskaltzals organised at local level. A meeting place for individuals, associations and stakeholders who share the goal of fostering the use of Basque.
The grassroots of the movement are the Euskaltzals, the members and volunteers of Basque language associations, the citizens who make their contribution to revitalising the Basque-speaking community. As the movement’s activities have expanded, the professional staff and executive committee work hand in hand with these groups.
Volunteers
At the base of the movement are members of the public, who often act as volunteers in different schemes, all of them focused on the use of Basque. This network of people is the foundation of the movement: we form a collective wave.

“Bektorea denbora da, maiztasuna, nola irauten duzun jokaera aldaketa horretan. Jokaera bakarra aldatzea kanpoan bezain zaila edo bezain erraza izango da etxean, baina irautea zailagoa da. “

Members
There are many associations working for the Basque language at the grassroots of this movement, offering support, protection and work in the series of initiatives run within the movement. They are helping to revitalise the Basque-speaking community.

“Pazientziarena giltzarrietako bat da, batez ere elkarri tamaina hartu arte. Inoiz probatu gabe ondo ezagutzen duzun pertsona batekin lehenengoz euskaraz egiteko, egoera berezi bat sortu behar da.“

Work group
As the movement’s activities have developed and grown, a professional work group has been set up, made up of 35 members. This is a multi-disciplinary group of experts committed to different plants and projects.

“Krisi honi aurre egiten lagunduko digu euskarak. Aurrera egiteko, behar dugu lankidetza, eta hori ez da bakarrik harremanen eremuan gauzatzen, kulturen eta balio partekatuen eremuan ere bai“
Jasone Mendizabal/Zuzendaria
Executive Committee
This is a group of experienced people who have worked or influenced for the Basque language for many years. This committee plays a role in the running of the movement. There are other committees organised by areas which also help to lead the movement.

“Niretzat euskaraz egitea ez da naturala izan, borondate baten ondorioa baizik”
Kike Amunarriz/Lehendakaria
Partners
There are many stakeholders who support and sustain the Euskaltzal movement, forming a broad network working for the Basque language. We work together with different institutions and associations to promote the use of Basque.

Alaitz Artolazabal/Tokikom
“Euskara ikastea, praktikatzea eta normalizazio bidean jartzea eskubidea izan dadin ari gara lanean.”
